Robin's Nest Blog Hop

Hey there scrappy friends!
Welcome to the Robin's Nest Blog Hop! You can see the list of design team blogs participating HERE.
I am sharing a simple layout I created using one of my favorite summer recipes- Stars and Stripes Dessert.
I used Wedgewood Glitter Cardstock for my background.
I took Admiral Daisy Glitter Linen Cardstock (10 1/4"x10 1/2") and punched one edge and stitched all around. I then cut Red Glitter Paisley Cardstock ( 4"x7 3/4") and added my photo to it. See close up below.

I cut the title- Stars & Stripes Forever from the Glitter Word Titles. I added Red Alpha Glitter Stickers and stitched them. I added Grape Archival Seeds:

I fussy cut my journaling box that I had written my recipe on from the Black Glitter On White Cardstock Journal Tags:

For my photo, I printed 2 of them, one in color and 1 in black & white. I fussy cut the cake pan out of the colored one and popped it up with pop dots to give it more dimension.

Here are the products I used:

I will choose a random winner from my comments to win a sample pack of the Robin's Nest Journaling Tags.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Twistback Thursday

Hello there! Happy Friday!
Spring break starts NOW! YAY!
I have been working on a layout pretty much all week, here and there, when I had time. It's not one of my favorite layouts, but the challenge was so fun, I just had to play along!
Here is the Twistback Thursday challenge I played along with at Sketch-N-Scrap:

#1. The BACK. We have dragged out a sketch from the past. This particular one is from Sept. 1, 2013:

#2. The TWIST! You can only use WHITE CARDSTOCK/PAPER/TAGS. That's right folks, you need to create your own designs here. Make your decorative papers, embellishments, title, sentiments, using inks, paints, stamping, sprays, pens etc. Now no cheating!

I loved the sketch and yes, I was up for a challenge and this was challenge for me!

I used my Cameo and used 2 cut files from the Silhouette Store and cut them out on white cardstock. I used watercolors and Gelatos to color them. I then added lots of stitching.
I also cut the title on my Cameo:

The green is the negative part from the rectangle cut file:

Here are a few more close ups:

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Yolo

Hey there!
I just want to share my layout: Yolo (You only live once), it's a popular thing my teenagers say:)
I used a Keren Gerber sketch over at Scrap Our Stash, I love her sketches! Besides the sketch, the twist was to use gold. I also  am entering this layout for the March challenge at Creative Embellishments (a photo and a CE flourish) and Toni's Mix It Up challenge at Turtle Soup (use a mix of different 6x6 paper pads)
I used Fancy Pants Be Loved, Carta Bella Merry & Bright & a few other 6x6 papers I received in a RAK for this layout of Sierra all decked out for prom last year:

It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but I used a CE flourish, added gold embossing powder and then some Stickles to make it bling:

Here you can see my layers. I cut some arrows and a heart from a My Minds Washi Tape and added them along with a chipboard piece from Be Loved. What do you think of that gold May Arts ribbon? I love it! I cut it jagged to give more texture.

Here you can see some of my background work. I used a Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste for the diamonds. I also used a TCW stencil and some distress ink for the coffee stains. The mini Polaroid frame I cut by hand. I added some washi tape, mists and a punched border:

Here you can see some mist drips (I spray mist and then spritz with water), some more of that yummy May Arts gold ribbon, washi tapes and a fun gold heart from Studio Calico:

and how about that gold YOLO word banner? That's from Studio Calico also:

Here is the sketch I used over at Scrap Our Stash:

Here is the picture for Creative Embellishments challenge. For inspiration, I used the green, gold, Polaroid frame and flourish.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

Create Happiness!

Happy Sunday!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
I just want to share a layout I created using Echo Park Creative Agenda along with a Stuck?! sketch.
I used a photo of the kids coloring while we were at the Henry Ford Museum a few years ago:

I used watercolors on my background papers to give more color. I cut my scribble circle on the Cameo and stitched with navy thread.

I popped the paintbrushes sticker up on pop dots to give more dimension and also added a few arrow enamels.

I fussy cut the camera from one of the papers and popped that up as well.

The "fun filled day" journaling card was perfect for this page!

Here is the sketch I used:

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Toot!

I am so excited that I was asked to be on the Feeling Sketchy Design Team! My first reveal will be April 1st! Hope you will check out their blog and play along!

Smile

Happy Friday!
There is a new sketch up over on the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog today.
I used a variety of manufacturers on my page:
Background & embellies- Dear Lizzy Serendipity. I also fussy cut the mason jar from this line
Amy Tangerine Stitched for circles
Pink Paislee Solstice- light grey circle

I used my Cameo to cut the circles from my background paper and then added papers behind it:

Here are a few close ups:

Can you see my booboo? I originally cut out another circle and didn't like it, so I tried putting it back as best as I could, LOL

Here is the fun sketch:

Hope you have a wonderful day!
