Inspiration Elevator October

Our main purpose here at IE is to challenge ourselves, each other and YOU to take the creative process to the next level;  to inspire growth and change in our scrapbooking beyond the mundane.
You can catch us on Facebook  and share your creations there; we'd love to see how we have inspired you!

This month we are thrilled to welcome back as a guest designer with our team, the artistic and genteel, Scarlett Salomone. Her creative works are as lovely as she is!

This month's challenge is issued by the talented Wendi Robinson. Her first time to issue a challenge for IE and it's a great one! Here is her challenge in her own words:

LOSS... One thing we as scrapbookers do is post about lots of happy things, wonderful moments, things that make us smile, and things we want to remember. Too many times we avoid scrapping the not so memorable, or sad times. Most of us have experienced a loss of some kind, whether is be a loved one- sometimes it's expected, sometimes the loss comes too soon and unexpected. Other times we lose a pet, a job, feel like we've failed at a situation, or loss of a friendship. This time, let's scrap those harder moments that come into our lives. Scrap about a LOSS of some kind.

I knew right away what or should I say who my subject was going to be- our very good friend, Ron, who died from pancreatic cancer a year ago last month. I have lost other loved ones, but this loss has been the hardest for me. I bawled as I created this page and am bawling now typing up this post.  Ron was too young and always lived life to the fullest!
Last month Greg and I were visiting my sister and BIL on a weekend and decided to go visit Ron's grave. It just so happened it was one year ago that day that he passed away. This was the first time we seen his head stone and of coarse, I had to take pics. This photo was perfect for this challenge.
In honor of Ron, who we all miss dearly, here is the page I created:

I used Glitz Finnley collection along with a Studio Calico wood veneer word, some Little Yellow Bicycle stickers and a few different alphas. I also added some Concrete Shimmerz Mist and Fancy Pants Sequins.
Here are a few close ups:

I used this fun sketch at LGS:

Throwback Thursday!

Hello scrappy friends!
Are you looking for a way to use your stash? Well, every Thursday at My Scraps & More is Throwback Thursday and we do just that- challenge you to use something from your stash.
Today on the board, I am challenging you to use that chipboard.
I used old chipboard letters for this layout. I think I have had these letters in my stash for at least 15 years! It feels good to get rid of them! I used Fancy Pants for this layout:

So, are you ready to dig in your stash? We would love for you to play along with us!

Christmas Cards

Hey there!
Since World Card Making Day was Saturday, I decided to make a few Christmas cards to get ahead start. My Scraps & More Sketches had a blog hop with lots of fun sketches and Turtle Soup has a fun card crop going on right now, so it was perfect for me to whip up a few cards. I have been swamped with work and doing things for the Athletic Booster Club at school, but I managed to find a few moments here and there to get 4 cards done!

This first card I used Michelle's sketch and Giselle's challenge:

For my second card, I used Wendi's sketch and Toni's challenge:

For my third card I used Nadine's sketch and Ginni's challenge:

For my last card, I used Tracy F.'s sketch and Joan's challenge:

I am hoping to get to the other sketches and challenges eventually this week.
Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Leaves

Hey scrappy friends! Happy fall!
It's time for a new challenge at Cards In Envy today! Today's challenge is all about autumn leaves- use one or more leaves on your A2 card.

Here is what I came up with using October Afternoon Campfire:

I used a premade border with leaves on it and added some leave stickers.
Hope you will check out what the rest of the design team did with this challenge, play along and link your card up.

Have a great day!

Bushels of Fun!

Happy Monday!
Time for a new sketch at LGS.
I used Simple Stories Harvest Lane for this one:

WCMD!

Happy World Card Making Day to all my scrappy friends!
In honor of WCMD, Turtle Soup is having a crop!
I posted a challenge this morning- use watercolors or anything wet on your card.
I used watercolors and created a rainbow with them. I added a stamp, a clear sticker, an eyelet and twine for this easy and pretty card:

Hope you will stop over on the forum and play along with us!

My Scraps & More Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog blog hop!! Today, each design team member has created a CARD sketch to celebrate World Card Making Day. That’s TEN different sketches!!!

You should have come from Wendi R.'s blog, if not, you can start HERE at the beginning

There will be TWO prizes given out for the blog hop:

1. One person will win a $10 gift certificate to the store just for commenting on one of the designers blog posts. I will choose one of the DT members blogs and then choose a random commenter from that post.

2. Another winner will be chosen from all the card sketch entries uploaded to the In Linkz on the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog. For each card sketch, create a DIFFERENT link up. So if you complete all 10 sketches, you will need to do 10 link-ups! (On your card link please be sure to mention whose sketch you used and link back to the My Scraps & More Sketch blog. If you’d like you can also leave the DT member a comment with a link to your card so they can see what you did with their sketch.)

Here is the prize for the card sketch blog hop:

All comments and card sketches for the Blog Hop must be linked up by Monday, October 6th at 12 pm EST.

BUT, if you don’t complete all the card sketches by Monday, that’s OK….you can still upload them through the end of the month for the monthly prize drawing on the sketch blog! The more sketches you do, the more chances you have to win!

Here is the monthly blog prize:

Awesome prizes, HUH?!
