Happy Saturday!

If you are here for the My Scraps & More Switch It Up September Blog Hop, please click here.

I am enjoying the last weekend off before school starts on Tuesday :(
Today I have a layout up on the Just Imagine Blog.
Greg's Mom passed away a few weeks ago and he was down there at her house looking at old pictures. He found this one of us and his sister Carole in 2000 when the kids were little, so I decided to scrap it!

Here are a few close ups of the borders. I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #924 with no insert:

and used the fall away piece for this border at the top:

Here is a close up of the doily using the Kreaxions Star Stencil and the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #924 with insert A:

Here are the products I used:

Hope I have inspired you to dig into your older photos and get them scrapped!
Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Summer Fun

Hello!

Just wanted  to share a layout I have up on the My Scraps & More Blog today! I  used  Webster Pages Citrus Squeeze collection for this fun 4th of July page.
I used sketch #42 from the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog. I added Gesso to my background paper to tone it down, added a few layers of patterned papers and some fun Glitz Designs washi tape:

Enjoy your day!

Matchbook

Today on the Practical Scrappers blog our challenge was to use staples. I decided to add extra photos to my layout with staples, but just didn't want to staple them to my page, so I created a matchbook to add these wallet sized photos in:

Here are a few close ups:
Closed:

Open:

Here is how I made my matchbook:

Cut cardstock 6 1/4" x 3 6/8"
Score at 3/4", 3 3/4", 3 7/8" and fold.
Punch holes, I used my 1/8" eyelet setter, on the bottom flap through the back layer also. Use ribbon and tie a bow. You can add eyelets, but the ribbon does cover the holes.
Print wallet size photos (2 1/2" x 3 1/4") stack them neatly and staple the bottom flap and photos to the back of the matchbook.
Tuck the top  flap under the stapled bottom flap.
Decorate/ embellish as desired

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
Have a great day!

Eyelets

Up on the Practical Scrappers Blog the 10 Things Design Team is using eyelets. It's been awhile since I have used eyelets on a layout and I have a lot of them in my stash. This was the perfect way to use a few of them!
I used the Fancy Pants What A Wonderful Day Collection for my layout. I decided to rip my cardstock and added patterned paper behind it. I then added eyelets and laced ribbon through them just like you would do on a shoe:

Here are a few close ups:

Check out what the other ladies did with their eyelets over on the PS Blog.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

For the Birds!

I have a card up on the Cards In Envy Blog today. Todays challenge is For The Birds! Lol! Your challenge is to use at least 1 or more birds on your card. How fun is that?!
I have been trying to use some of my stash and decided to use this older Echo Park line for my card:

I used 3 birds on my card, bright colors and added lots of stitching on this fun card!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

It's Monday!

Good morning!
It's my turn to play with the sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy this week and it's a fun one!
I used a photo of Sierra in her kayak, which was a Christmas gift and we finally took them out. I used the Glitz Color Me Happy line for this fun page:

I fussy cut the title and hearts and added some stitching.

Here is this weeks sketch by Ashley Horton:

Stop on over to the LGS Blog and see what the other talented designers did with this sketch and to play along.

All Dressed Up!

Happy Sunday Scrappy Friends!
Today I would like to share a layout I created for a lift challenge at Turtle Soup.
I lifted this gorgeous layout by Julie (Julg60):

I had a blast creating my background using modeling paste, a stencil, stamps and paint. I used a photo of Sierra with her friends at Homecoming last year and came up with this:

I used a string of silver beads and an overlay that have been in my stash for quite awhile. Here are a few close ups:

I love how this turned out, thanks for the inspiration, Julie!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and sharing your day with me!

Back To School

Today up on the Just Imagine Blog we have our monthly design team reveal. Our theme this month is back to school.
I chose to use a few older pictures of Austin from his first day of 5th grade for my layout. I used some older Basic Grey, Crate Papers and Fancy Pants for my layout:

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #909 with no insert for my borders and used the positive and negative sides on my layout.
Here are a few close ups:

I hope you will stop on over to the Just Imagine Blog and see what the rest of the design team did with the back to school challenge and the Kreaxion Punches.

Have a great day!

MSW Card Sketch

It's the 15th of the month, that means I have a new card to share with you using a sketch by Lucy at My Sketch World! Since this is the final month for this design term, Lucy asked us to pick our favorite sketch from last year or later and use that for our card. This was hard, since all of her sketches are fabulous!
I ended up choosing this sketch:

Here is my card:

Enjoy your day!

Turtle Soup Sketch

Hello and happy Monday!
I am up on the Turtle Soup board today with a sketch challenge! BTW, every Monday there is a new sketch over there.
After I signed up to do this challenge and saw The sketch, I about had a heart attack! Bev's sketch is beautiful, but you see, I have a hard time doing circles on my layouts, always have and hopefully, not always will. LOL!
Anyway, I thought long and hard on this layout and finally decided to cheat and use a doily and a few fussy cut flowers for my circles. Here is what I came up with:

I am glad I was pushed out of my comfort zone with this fun sketch! I love my layout!

Hope you find time to play along with us this month!

Saturday!

hello and happy weekend!
It's my day up on the Just Imagine Blog today and I want to share my layout here too.
I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #910, Circle Cutter and the B Stencil for my layout.
I cut a 7 1/2" circle with my Circle Cutter, used the B Stencil and marked all the lines. I then punched every line with Punch #910 to create my doily:

I added lots of patterned paper layers, stitching and fun camping embellies and words.

Here are the products I used:

3 Reasons Why

Happy Wednesday!
It's my day up on the My Scraps & More Blog and I just want to share my layout here as well.  I used Webster Pages Citrus Squeeze collection.
This line is so fun and it just screams SUMMER but is versatile enough to use for everyday layouts as well.
I added some paint drips, stitching, bling and distressing to this layout. I also did quite a bit of fussy cutting:

Here is a close up:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and have a wonderful day!

Today on the Practical Scrappers blog the 10 Things team shows how to use border punches on your layouts and/or cards. I decided to use my border punch and create a frame for my photo:

Here is a close up:

Hope you will stop over to the Practical Scrappers Blog and see what the other girls did with this challenge.
