Hello and happy weekend!
Just wanted to share my post I have on the Just Imagine Blog today. It's my birthday card for Austin. I can't believe me will be 13 on Monday! Another teenager in the house, oh boy!

Austins bday card (817x1024)
I used Kreaxions 3 in 1 Punch # 918 with no inserts and made borders with it. I used the positive part of the border on my card first and then added 3 layers of the negative on top of that. Here is a close up:

It's amazing what layering can add to a card!

Thanks for stopping by and hope o see you again soon!

MSW Reveal

Hello and happy Father's Day!
For this months design team reveal, Lucy had us pick our favorite card sketch and make a card using it. Now this was very hard to do since Lucy's sketches are all wonderful, but in the end, I chose this one:

and here is my card using it:

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

Inspiration Elevator Challenge #2

Welcome to our second Inspiration Elevator challenge. You may recall from last month`s challenge that the purpose of this challenge group was to take our scrapbooking to the next level; to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow. This month`s challenge was issued by the very talented Laura Whitaker. Here`s a sampling of what Laura asked us to do:

``For my challenge I wanted to get back to the root of scrapbooking a little bit, back to the preserving of memories; to encourage you to look at your photos a little more closely.  We all have cute photos of the sweet-faced children and beautiful family members, in our lives, that we can scrapbook.  But I want to challenge you to choose a photo that tells a story or evokes an emotion, something a little different than our children playing or family members posing.   We all have heard that a picture speaks a thousand words. Chose a photo that was taken from behind the subject, preferably one in which you cannot see their face.  Maybe you have chosen not to scrap a particular photo in past because you couldn’t see the subject’s face very well, this is the perfect time to use that photo. Then the story will be the focus and not the face.   Then tell the story that goes with the photo via your journaling.  This way when our families look back at this page years from now, they will truly be reminded of the moment.``

What an incredible challenge!

Looking through my photos, I came across a photo  my dear husband had taken from behind me and the curtain that stood in front of my abdomen. It is from my C-section when Austin was born. I realized I never scrapped this "special" photo because it wasn't the best quality and this was the perfect time to scrap it!

Looking back now I can still feel the fear from that day... Was my precious son going to be okay? or were we going to facing our greatest challenge yet?
I am so thankful the Lord gave us his greatest gift ever! After a few weeks in the neo-natal center our precious baby boy was allowed to go home and to this day is healthy and very active!

My fellow group of artists have been working all month to create gorgeous and inspiring designs. Here`s the list of my IE friends and I hope you`ll pop by and see what they have created and perhaps take a moment to say a word or two.

Ooops!

Hello and happy Sunday!
Last week I was working on this layout for a challenge at My Scraps & More and I took the cover off of my bottle of Glimmer Mist and guess what?! I spilled it on my picture! At first I was devastated, but as it dried, I liked the look of it and decided to use it any way.

                                          and a close-up:

So next time you make an error, look and see if it is still workable!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!
